Clinical Introduction to Narrative Enhancement and Cognitive Therapy: A Treatment Approach to Address The Negative Effects of Self-Stigma On People Diagnosed with Serious Mental Health Conditions

Professor Philip Yanos will provide an overview of the background/justification for addressing self-stigma among people diagnosed with serious mental health conditions, an overview of Narrative Enhancement and Cognitive Therapy (NECT) a group-based psychosocial approach to addressing self-stigma's effects that he co-developed, and engage participants in role-playing exercises to develop skills needed to implement a NECT group in their clinical settings.
